"If you are ever in Durango you should not miss a visit to the Red Snapper restaurant, 144 East 9th Street, just off the main drag. The restaurant has a cozy and intimate atmosphere and combines a high standard of food with being family friendly. As its name implies it offers a range of well presented and great value fish dishes but combines this with a menu which also offers steaks. My wife and I were so impressed with the restaurant that we dined there three nights in a row during our visit to Durango in July 2008. Each main fish course comes with a trip to the salad bar. You may think that's no big deal, but you haven't seen the salad bar - it has the widest variety of any that I have seen anywhere. The salad bar visit constitutes a meal in itself. The wine list is well priced so that dining there is not a strain on the wallet. We can vouch for the high quality of the fish as we sampled that on each of our three visits. This restaurant is highly recommended."
